Are you emotionally invested in your business?
In other words, have you cried, been upset or struggled at some point in your business to a point that you became emotional?
There’s something in our culture that makes us think or believe that it’s not okay to be emotionally invested into our business.
How else do you become passionate about what it is that you do?
How else do you love the audience and the people and the clients that you serve unless we give ourselves an opportunity to express the full spectrum of emotion that we are capable of as human being with our emotion?
So, what does that mean to cry, you know, especially when you’re an entrepreneur and you’re struggling and you’re working to grow your business? There are these points in your business where you will hit a wall and then the tears will come and we have a tendency to interpret it as a bad thing.
I’m here to talk to you today about what it’s not and what it’s supposed to be and how you best interpret those tears, what I like to call “tears of growth”.
Let’s look at nature
In nature, in the world of plants and plant living, there are seeds, there’s soil, there’s sun, there’s air, there’s all these different things, these components and ingredients needed for growth.
So when a farmer plants something, whether be a tree or a bush or a flower, what do they have to do first?
They have to plant the seed.
In this day and age, because of the technology around horticulture, you don’t just plant the seed in soil, you make sure there’s enough sun where needed and you make sure there’s air, and you also put fertilizer.
And the final piece necessary for growth is water.
So how do tears help?
So what I mean by crying or having those emotional investments into your business is that those tears, it actually comes forth most when you need it. The fertilizer is the stuff that you’ve been dealing in your life. You planted the seeds of knowledge. The final part is the tears that will activate the fertilizer.
I’d like you to go ahead and think about that in your business. Where have this shown up? Have you had a potential opportunity to be emotionally invested in your business and you just cut yourself off? I guarantee you that if you start allowing yourself to be authentically emotional and vulnerable.
I’m not saying you have to be that way with everyone around you, it’s between you and your business. Allow yourself to be freely emotional, having those emotions in your business. Your business will start to thrive in ways you would never have imagined.
This is why people are addicted to some of these events that are here to support the personal development and growth of entrepreneurs because it allows them to be emotionally more connected to their business.
But what if you could do that without having to go to these events?
What if you could simply allow yourself to open up and to nurture that baby that you call your business as an entrepreneur?
So, what are you waiting for? Open up to your business, allow yourself to be emotionally invested, and you’d be surprised and you’ll see what happens to get you that 6, 7, and 8-figure success.
