you_dont_want_to_be_this_lazy

I admit, I’ve been lazy recently.

Not in the sense that I lie around and watch TV all day or do nothing.

I go into my office at least 5 days a week, work from home after dinner, and get a lot done.
But I was still being lazy.

See, I used to think that being lazy meant to sleep all day, or spending a day without getting anything done. But there’s actually other ways of being lazy.

It’s more insidious this other way, and that’s called: “Busy being lazy

As entrepreneurs we are confronted with things that we need to do on a daily basis. Some things we love to do, some things we have to do or we need to do but we don’t want to do.

And at the end of the day, this “busy being lazy” shows up as
“I ran out of time” or “I wish I had more time”

The fact of the matter is we have plenty of time in the day to get what we need to get done, but we are choosing to fill our time with other things instead.

“Busy being lazy” sometimes also shows up as the shiny object syndrome, filling your time with “Oh, maybe I can try this new marketing method” or “Ahh I think I should watch this video on webinar conversions.”

So basically, what happens is we end up occupying our time with all these things, keeping ourselves busy, but what we’re really doing is being busy being lazy without getting stuff done that needs to get done.

Think about that for a moment.
I challenge you to think about how often have you been busy being lazy lately.
I know I’ve had my fair share, and as a result I’ve felt things just aren’t getting done.

So if you truly want to take your business to the next level and if you really want to start getting results, but feel like you’ve been challenged, think about all the challenges that you’ve been encountering in your business this past month, and look at your day.

How are you occupying your day?

You will probably find that more times and not, that you’ll have pockets of times we’re just busy being “lazy”.

So how do we tackle that?
First and foremost we want to first make sure that we identify the task that we DO need to get done.

Remember I talked about this before, you want to pick three things three things that you want to get done that day and do that first. What about everything else?

Challenge yourself to say “Hey stop being lazy! If I’m not doing something that is going to lead me to accomplishing what I want to get done today, then I’m probably being busy being lazy.”

You will find by prioritizing the 3 things you want to focus on, you will also have time to do the other things, but the other things won’t take up your whole day.

So let that sink in a little bit because this is something really profound and has had completely transformed the way i have run my business, and how my clients and my students have run their businesses.

So if you know someone that is suffering from the busy being lazy syndrome, share this video with them!
