Holiday Money Anxiety
While most people wind down at the end of year, wouldn’t it be great if you can use the holiday season to stimulate more growth for your business?
See a lot of what shows up on holiday season is money anxiety anxiety.
Stress for money is high during the holiday season because oftentimes we feel stuck in this culture of spending a lot of money during the holiday season, whether it be for gifts, parties, outfits, etc. Some groups may have gift exchanges and secret santas which requires money, travelling for the holidays requires money, so money anxiety is pretty high.
So how then do we use that to stimulate growth in our business?
Why Do We Stress Over Money During The Holidays?
Most anxiety and stress happens during holidays because we start thinking about having to spend money that we’ve already made, money that has been pre allocated for other things.
I often talk about how to structure creating more cash flow into your business, and one of the things I mention is to set an intention by creating a ledger of what you want and writing down how much that will cost you so that you can bring in or generate that capital.
So why would we do anything different during the holidays?
One of the best way to use the holidays to stimulate our growth is to pre-plan and write out all the things that you’re looking to spend during the holiday season prior to spending the money so that you can turn your business into a holiday happiness generating machine.
And How Do We Turn Our Business Into A Holiday Happiness Generating Machine?
Write down everything that we want: all the gifts, all the travel plans, all the potential spending that we can think of and figure out how much you want to allocate to holiday spending.
So let’s say we plan everything out and it looks like we’re probably going to spend anywhere from three to five thousand dollars.
Let’s go on the high end for $5,000.
And now you go back to your business and ask yourself, “What is it that I can do to generate $5,000 of new
business?”
That’s it.
Some of you may say “Well that’s easier said than done”.
If you said that, allow yourself to explore and answer that question.
Most of the time people say “Well that’s easy.” or “That’s too easy” without really engaging in that “easy” activity.
So ask yourself: What can I do for my business right now to generate $5,000 in new business.
Why New Business?
Note that I repeated say “new business”.
This is not business you’ve already created for other intentions such as updating the technology in your office or hiring a new member of your team, but new businesses specifically dedicated to give you the revenue and the cash that you want for the holiday season.
See, when you make an agreement around money with yourself, you make an agreement with the universe and with prosperity.
And that agreement says “When that money comes in I will use it for this specific purpose” and if you use it for something else, it’s like flipping the universe off.
It’s like saying “HA! You gave me what I asked for but I’m not gonna do what I said!”
By not holding up to your part of the agreement, you are basically breaking rapport with prosperity.
So make sure you set intentions and follow through, and stimulate some growth this holiday season.
