I’m guessing you’ve heard about SMART goals and have been educated on goal-setting methods before. (If you haven’t here’s an earlier vlog with more on SMART goals).

What about “goal-getting” methods?

As an entrepreneur you should be setting monthly goals and focusing on improving your “goal-getting” and today I’m going to share with you a simple process I use for my private clients to get your business to where you want it to be.

First of all, set a goal with the end result in mind.

It’s crucial that you are very clear of what the end result is first. What you’re doing is drawing a starting line and a finish line.

Once you envision your end result, if you find yourself thinking about how you are going to get to that end, let that thought go. When you run a race do you think about how you’re going to run? “I’m going to use my feet, lift one and put it down.” No, you don’t. So let the “how” go so you can reach your goal with minimal effort and with as much grace and ease as possible.

Second step is to choose an indication point, also known as the tipping point.

This is the point where once you hit this, you know you’re going to reach your goal no matter what. There is a moment that you know with the entire being that once you hit that, you’re as good as gold on hitting that goal. So, you want to pick that indication point, you want get crystal clear of what that is, define the components of how you know, almost like from a metric standpoint when you hit that indication point.

Next, you want to set at least two to three milestones in between the starting point and indication point. Note I did not say “to the goal” but “to the indication point”.

Each milestone will bring you closer and closer to that indication point, and once you hit the tipping point, then you’re on auto-pilot for that goal, and you can actually star working on a new goal.

Once you get a hang of this, it’s really just a pattern you run through.

Remember to activate this “goal-getting process” in your mind so that your goal setting is more than just setting a goal as a deadline you will never hit.

I talk about goal setting all the time and it’s really powerful. I have seen clients transform their business in a very profitable way, double, tripling their revenues simply by incorporating this unique type of goal-getting process.

So set those goals, make it happen.
